This 3.54 carat natural alexandrite is cut in an oval mixed cut, giving it a refined balance of brilliance and depth. In daylight it presents a yellowish‑green body colour, shifting to a soft pinkish tone under incandescent light, a classic colour‑change effect created by chromium within the chrysoberyl crystal. Gemmological testing confirms it as natural chrysoberyl, alexandrite variety, with doubly refractive, biaxial‑positive optics, trichroic pleochroism, and a refractive index of 1.748–1.755.
Under magnification it reveals natural growth lines, minerals and silk, supporting its natural origin while maintaining transparent clarity. With a robust hardness of 8.5 and specific gravity between 3.71 and 3.75, this stone combines durability with distinctive personality, and is independently certified by the International Gemmological Laboratory Colombo (IGLC)
